Sister School Program

Wilchester Elementary is part of SBISD Sister School Solution Program and has proudly supported Spring Shadows Elementary as our sister school since 2011.  The program is designed to improve education, support teachers’ needs and most importantly to support the basic clothing and food needs of children. Our student council is actively involved in conducting drives such as our annual coat and turkey drives. Other activities include the implementation of Blessings in a Backpack with many Spring Shadows students.  Both schools benefit from a community partnership that teaches everyone firsthand about gratitude and giving back.

When completing the 2022-2023 Big Form, you have an opportunity to donate money to the Sister School program. Additionally, there will be plenty of opportunities to volunteer throughout the year. Sign up to be on our committee, and we will contact you about specific ways you can help!  Examples are Blessings in a Backpack distribution, Coat Drive, Turkey Drive, and a Teacher Appreciation luncheon.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES 

The Blessings in a Backpack team for our sister school, Spring Shadows invites you to help deliver weekend food on Fridays. We meet about 9:15 at Spring Shadows and are usually done by 10am. To sign up and for more information, please click here.
